Sabrina Fair performs as part of the Les Femmes concert series at Velour Live Music Gallery in Provo on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024.In continuing its annual tradition, Velour Live Music Gallery in Provo is excited for the return of its “Les Femmes De Velour” event, a celebration of female artists in the local music scene. This year’s festival is taking place over the course of 11 nights, featuring 40-plus female artists and female-fronted bands.
The event started Feb. 6 and continues each Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the end of the month. Doors open at 7:30 each night and tickets are $10 if you buy before the show or $12 at the door.
The goal of “Les Femmes De Velour” is to celebrate the achievements of women in music, inspire young female musicians and help build camaraderie among female artists. The tradition began in the mid-1990s and was revived at Velour 15 years ago. What started as a one-night even has since grown to an 11-night celebration.
