Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, is a time we all need to stop and take a few moments to reflect on and honor the past and present members of the armed forces.
The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1. Remembering Our Veterans 2026
Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Nov. 11, 11 a.m.
Take time this week to thank all of our veterans here in Utah Valley for their service to their country. There are many events going on to honor these women and men, including the ceremony in Pleasant Grove. The city website says: “Join the Pleasant Grove community for Remembering Our Veterans, a special Veterans Day service dedicated to honoring the men and women who have served our country. Held on November 11 at 11:00 AM, this ceremony is a time to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude to those whose courage, service, and sacrifice have protected our freedoms. Families, veterans, and community members of all ages are invited to attend as we come together in respect and remembrance. We remember. We honor. We are grateful.” Other veteran celebrations this week include events at BYU, the Scera in Orem, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain.

The venue website says: “Looking for the ultimate haunted house experience near you? Discover the Haunted Forest in American Fork, Utah – a terrifying Halloween tradition that began in the summer of 1990 and has grown into one of the largest and most popular haunted attractions in the United States. Located right here in Utah County, this massive Scream Park spans over 1,000,000 square feet of haunted trails, terrifying sets, and spine-chilling thrills. Whether you’re a local thrill-seeker or visiting from nearby cities like Lehi, Provo, or Salt Lake City, the Haunted Forest is a must-visit Halloween destination.”

If you were smart enough to get tickets to this popular event, you may be smart enough to figure out the mystery. The museum website says: “Join us for our popular Mystery Night and enjoy an evening of mystery and fun! The event will be themed around the movie and board game, “Clue”; costumes are encouraged but not required.” If you didn’t get in this year, perhaps you’ll have better luck next time the event rolls around.
