Utah McDonald’s restaurants offer free breakfast to students Sept. 6
Utah students from kindergarten age to eighth grade are invited to celebrate the new school year with a free breakfast this Wednesday, courtesy of their local McDonald’s.
The meals, which include a free Egg McMuffin or Egg White Delight McMuffin, apple slices and choice of milk, chocolate milk or apple juice, are being offered to students younger than 15 years of age across Utah, western Wyoming and Eastern Nevada as a result of a partnership between the Dairy Council of Utah/Nevada and the Utah PTA.
Students wishing to redeem the meals can head to a participating McDonald’s restaurant with a parent this Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Only one breakfast is offered per student, and the offer may vary between locations.
“McDonald’s is on a journey to be better and has made numerous changes to our menu that our guests can feel good about,” said Rob Sparrer, a Utah McDonald’s owner/operator, in response to the event.
“Something that has never changed is our commitment to the well-being of children. We are proud to offer this free breakfast with fresh, healthy ingredients to support and encourage improved nutrition choices.”
Another promotion currently benefitting school-aged children is the return of Happy Meal Books in McDonald’s Happy Meals nationwide. The promotion is in celebration of National Literacy Month, and will extend from Sept. 5-18.
Available books include “Pete the Cat’s Got Class” by James Dean, “Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School” by Herman Parish, “Just a School Project” by Mercer Mayer and “If You Take a Mouse to School” by Laura Numeroff.
