5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week.
Celebrate Arbor Day
Arbor Day — a day set apart for tree planting –is celebrated annually on the last Friday in April in Utah. Several cities in Utah County will host Arbor Day celebrations in this weekend with tree-planting events. Pleasant Grove, Highland, Lehi, Mapleton and Lindon will all host events on Friday or Saturday for residents who want to show their appreciation for local trees. Take in some local youth theater
Take your kids on a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure with “Mary Poppins Jr.” at the Covey Center for the Arts. The play, based on the Disney film, features the talents of 86 kids from Utah County between the ages of 7 and 17 from the Center State Youth Performers group.

Celebrate the upcoming Owlz season
Love summer baseball? Get your family excited about the upcoming action with the Orem Owlz Preseason Party. The event will be held at the Orchard at University Place, and will include a picnic in the park with a free hot dog from RC Willey, $1 Kona Ice, live entertainment and a look at the new Bus Rapid Transit bus.
There will also be photo opportunities with Hootz, the Orem Owlz mascot, face painters, inflatables and other activities.

Have dinner at a local food truck
The spring weather is officially here, and that means that it is the perfect time to take the family to a local food truck roundup. The Lehi Food Truck League Night started for the season last week and runs every Wednesday night through August 15.

Head to a film screening at the Orem Library
The Orem Library will host a screening of the 2005 film “Zathura” for the whole family. The film is about two young brothers who are drawn into an intergalactic adventure when their house is hurled through the depths or space by the magical board game they are playing. The film will be aired in the Media Auditorium.
