5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for all ages.
Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:
Celebrate National Dog Day
The Outlets at Traverse Mountain will host its annual Barks, Bites and Brews event, which gives the whole family the opportunity to celebrate National Dog Day. You can bring your fur-baby for fun, including a photo booth, face painting, live entertainment, Doggy Hair Paint from Petsmart and games to play with your dog.
When: 3-7 p.m., Saturday

Enjoy ‘Dancing Under the Stars'
For the 13th year, SCERA will be hosting its “Dancing Under the Stars” event, giving a chance to see nationally renowned dancers right here at home. The event will include special guest Martha Nichols and The Martha Nichols Dance Company from New York City, as well as Jaxon Willard, Charity and Andres, and The Pulse from NBC’s “World of Dance.” See this week’s Ticket entertainment section on Thursday for a more in-depth advance of the event.

Where: SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre; 699 S. State St., Orem
Take in a singing competition
Head to University Place in Orem for a singing competition, where you help decide who wins. Those in attendance can text votes for the winners, who will receive cash prizes.
DJ Rock The Mic will provide entertainment before the competition, and following the competition, Jersey Street will perform live.
When: 6-10 p.m. Friday
Where: University Place; 575 E. University Parkway, Orem
Enjoy a Renaissance
You and your family can take a step back in time by heading to the Utah Renaissance Fair at Thanksgiving Point. The Faire will include jousting competitions, armored combat, medieval Vikings, old-world music, dancing, games, pirates, shopping and food.
When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday

Take in a show
Payson Community Theater will be performing “Mary Poppins” this week, the perfect show for the whole family.
