5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for all ages.
Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:
Celebrate Onion Days
The final city celebration of the summer, Payson’s Golden Onion Days, will kick off this week and run through the holiday weekend. The fun starts Thursday with a Concert in the Park featuring The Frontmen of Country. The celebration runs through Labor Day.
Throughout the five days, there are several family-fun events that are perfect for those of all ages, including a carnival, fireworks, the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, Children’s Parade, Children’s Talent Showcase, a Soap Box Derby, a family fireside with Kevin Eubank, the Grand Parade, car show, children’s carnival and the annual Biggest Onion Awards.

Celebrate Lehi’s heritage
Labor Day isn’t just a day off work, it’s also the day that Lehi celebrates its heritage: Lehi Heritage Day. The event is fun whether you are a newbie to Lehi or if you’ve lived in the city all your life.
The day will include the city’s Showcase Parade where honorees will ride along Main Street. Following the parade, the Lehi Heritage Day event will feature displays, exhibits, entertainment, homemade hamburgers, a classic car show and more.
When: 2-7 p.m., Monday

Taste some great food
Several Utah Valley restaurants, food trucks and other groups will come together for the Utah Valley Food Fest, where those in attendance can sample menu items.

Head to an outdoor market
Held several times a year, the Bijou market features unique artisans and their handcrafted work. This market will take place at The Orchard at University Place and will include 60 vendors and a “Kid Row” with children’s artisans booths. There also will be family-friendly activities all weekend.

Love a luau
Celebrate the end of summer with a Polynesian festival with authentic entertainment at Thanksgiving Point. Take the whole family, along with blankets and chairs to enjoy the authentic food and entertainment.
