5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:

Have fun with Jell-O

Is there anything kids love more than Jell-O? How about a food fight with Jell-O? Thanksgiving Point will host its annual Jigglefest on Saturday, so grab your swimsuits and goggles and get ready to be covered in Jell-O. There will be alternating sessions of Jell-O throwing, sprinkler running and bounce house jumping. the Jell-O fights will happen at half past each hour.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday

Have a fiesta

One of Utah County’s favorite city celebrations — Spanish Fork’s Fiesta Days — is well under way, and it will have plenty of family-friendly events throughout the week. There will be a baby contest Wednesday, the Western Heritage Parade on Thursday, Children’s Day activities and a carnival on Friday. Saturday’s Fiesta Days lineup is packed full of fun, with the annual Children’s Parade, Fish Rodeo, car show, craft fair and Sunday Night in the Park.

Celebrate Steel Days

American Fork’s Steel Days kicked off last week, and includes a full week of fun activities that are perfect for the whole family. There is a baby contest on Tuesday, a Tea with the Queen event on Thursday and the city’s annual Soap Box Derby on Thursday evening. Friday’s activities include the city’s carnival, the Steel Days Sing-off and a movie in the park.

Saturday, you can participate in the Grand Parade, carnival, picnic in the park and the Big Show with fireworks.

Celebrate Pioneer Day early

Mapleton will be hosting its annual Pioneer Day Celebration with events including its annual Ping Pong Ball Drop. There also will be skydivers, music, food and fireworks.

The city’s Ping Pong Ball Drop will be held at Ira Allen Sports Park, where hundreds of ping pong balls will be dropped from a helicopter to kids below who can exchange them for prizes.

When: 5-11 p.m., Saturday

Where: Ira Allan Sports Park; 1728 S. 800 West, Mapleton

Enjoy America’s favorite pastime

One of the most iconic summer events in America is taking in a baseball game, and this week, the Orem Owlz have you covered. They will take on the Great Falls Voyagers on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. They will then take on the Billings Mustangs on Saturday and Sunday.

When: 7:05 p.m., Thursday-Saturday; 4:05 p.m., Sunday
