By Stacy Johnson daily Herald - | Jul 23, 2018

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages.

Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:

Celebrate Pioneer Day

Tuesday is a Utah holiday, commemorating the day that Mormon pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley. There are several ways you can celebrate in Utah County.

American Fork will host a celebration that will include activities for children and adults, as well as opportunities to learn how pioneers lived with tours of historic cabins and a buggy barn. It will take place from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday.

The annual Pioneer Day Extravaganza in Provo will include free games, crafts, live entertainment, face painting, a petting zoo, pie contest, root beer chug contest, Native American dancers and homestead demonstrations. It will take place at North Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Several cities also will have fireworks shows to end the evening. Orem’s University Place will have a fireworks show at the Orchard on Tuesday evening and Spanish Fork’s Fiesta Days will end the night Tuesday with a fireworks show.

Make a summer splash

Lehi city will be celebrating its annual summer party Tuesday; this year it is called the Summer Splash Party. The event will include games, bounce houses, entertainment, food and shopping. There will be a concert featuring James the Mormon at 8 p.m. and the evening will end with a fireworks show.

Does your family love magic? This week, the Provo City Library at Academy Square will host the Utah Art of Magic Festival.
