5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week.

Enjoy Strawberry Days

The annual city celebration in Pleasant Grove is in full swing this week. There are several events throughout the week that are fun and family-friendly including a baby contest, carnival, children’s parade, Mutton Bustin’, a princess party, the Huck Finn Pet Show, a pie eating contest, the grand parade and the annual Strawberry Days Rodeo.

Head to the ballgame

The Orem Owlz kick off their home schedule for the season Thursday against the Ogden Raptors. Kids can meet the Owlz mascot Hootz and there will be a fireworks show at the conclusion of the game.

When: 7:05 p.m., Thursday

Check out Lehi’s Round-up Week

Lehi’s annual city celebration — the Lehi Roundup — kicks off Saturday. Events over the weekend include the Round-Up 10k, 5k, and kids mile run; a tennis tournament, the Miss Lehi Pageant and arts in the Park.

Monday there will also be a chalk art contest, half-price swim day, art show and the city’s concert and picnic in the park.

When: June 23-July 1

See a movie in a park

Several cities will host movies int he park this week, a perfect reason to get out and enjoy a beautiful summer evening. Eagle Mountain will be showing “Frozen” at 9 p.m. Friday at Silverlake Amphitheater. You can see “The Emoji Movie” at dusk on Friday at Pioneer Park in Lindon. Take in “The Greatest Showman” on Monday at dusk at Rock Canyon Park in Provo. Springville will also host movie night at dusk Monday and will be showing “Lego Batman” at Spring Acres Arts Park.

Celebrate the Stars and Stripes

The Shops at Riverwoods will host its annual Stars and Stripes Party Saturday. The event will include face painters, balloon artists, bounce houses and a petting zoo for kids. Children can also have fun playing in the splash pads at Riverwoods.

There will be live entertainment at the gazebo and food for purchase. The event will end with an outdoor dance.

When: Party runs from 4-8 p.m., dance from 8:30-10:30 p.m.; Saturday
