5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week.

Enjoy the NASA Destination Station

The NASA Driven to Explore is a multimedia experience, where those who visit can be immersed in the story of NASA and the International Space Station. Head to Thanksgiving Point to see the exhibit that will let you learn more about improving life and earth and seeing what the future in space has in store.

There will also be a meet and greet with astronaut Randy “Komrade” Bresnik, a mock training, astronaut food and more.

When: 1-6 p.m.; Thursday

Where: Water Tower Plaza at Thanksgiving Point; 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way, Lehi

Take in the Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra’s Family Night

The Nebo Philharmonic Orchestra will host its Family Night on Friday, with performances of classic American orchestra music, including Copland, Gershwin, Joplin, Ellington and Sousa.

The event is free.

When: 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Salem Community Center; 131 W. 300 South, Salem

Head to the Astrofest

Take the whole family to the Astrofest at the BYU Eyring Science Center for fun, interactive activities related to astronomy. You can launch rockets, view physics demonstrations and participate in other activities.

When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday

Where: BYU Eyring Science Center; 1 Campus Dr., Provo

Send your teens to a “Star Wars” party

The Orem Library will host a “Star Wars” Party ahead of next week’s release of the new film “Solo.” The party, just for teens will include treats, crafts, bing, a photo booth and a screening of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” There will also be a costume contest with a winning prize of movie tickets to see “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

The event is for ages 12-18 only.

When: 5 p.m., Saturday

Where: Orem Public Library; 58 N. State St., Orem

See Shaun Barrows in concert

“American Idol” alum Shaun Barrowes will be in concert with Brooke Bromley, a former One Voice Children’s Choir member. The concert will include old favorites, covers, Christ-centered songs and brand-new music for the event.

This event, perfect for the whole family, will center on finding peace and hope in difficult times.

When: 7 p.m., Saturday

Where: Angelus Theater; 165 N. Main St., Spanish Fork
