5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week.

Head to Pony Express Days

Pony Express Days in Eagle Mountain kicked off Friday with the Pony Express Days Rodeo, and will continue through Saturday. There are plenty of family-friendly events going on throughout the week as part of the city’s annual celebration, including a bike ride and pancake dinner, the city’s Family Fun Day, a movie in the park, the annual carnival, a parade, demolition derby and a fireworks show.

When: Events happen through Saturday.

Take some time to go to the Art City Days

Another city celebration, Springville’s Art City Days, starts Saturday and will run through June 9. This Saturday, events will include a family fun run, the annual Hometown Rodeo and a talent festival.

When: Saturday-June 9.

Where: Various locations in Springville.

Have fun at Utah Lake

The annual Utah Lake Festival will be held Saturday, and is an event that has fun activities for those of all ages. You can learn about fish while walking through a 40-foot fish sculpture, build sand castles, see boats at the boat show and sailboat regatta, and take a hay ride. There will also be free fishing for kids 11 years old and younger, as well as free paddle board rentals and lessons, kayak and motorboat rentals and fun games for kids.

When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday.

Where: Utah Lake State Park; 4400 W. Center St., Provo.

Take a Social Bike Ride

Round out Provo’s Bike Month with one final Social Bike Ride event. The event is not a race, just a fun ride around the city and is perfect for all ages or abilities.

When: 8 p.m., Wednesday.

Where: Provo Bicycle Collective; 397 E. 200 North, Provo.

Go for a swim

Now that summer upon us, outdoor swimming pools around Utah Valley are opening. The SCERA Park Pools, the Lehi Outdoor Pool, the Lindon Aquatics Center, the Spanish Fork Water Park, the Payson City Pool and the Pleasant Grove Veteran’s Memorial Pool are a few of the outdoor places in Utah County where you can take a dip.
