5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for all ages.
Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:
Listen to a story
If your kids love their nightly bedtime story, you don’t have to wait for nighttime. The Timpanogos Storytelling Festival will take place at Thanksgiving Point starting Thursday.
The Timpanogos Storytelling Festival is one of the biggest storytelling events nationwide — attendees come from around the U.S. to hear some of the nation’s best storytellers weave their tales.
When: Wednesday-Saturday
Where: Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point; 3900 Garden Dr., Lehi
Have fun in a hammock
Take the family to the CLAS Ropes Course in Provo and join in the fun of the Utah Hammock Festival. The two-day event includes fun on the ropes course, midnight kayaking, bonfires, an outdoor movie, acoustic concert, hammock giveaways, a giant hammock tower, grass volleyball and overnight hammock camping.
There also will be an attempt to break the world record for most number of people in hammocks at the event.
When: 6-11 p.m., Friday; 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday

Take in some football
Football season is fully under way, and BYU Football will host its first home game of the season Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. BYU will host the California Golden Bears as the Cougars try to get their second win of the season.

Head to a bazaar
Fall is nearly upon us and the Beehive Bazaar is hosting its annual Fall Show. The Beehive Bazaar brings together dozens of crafting vendors, who sell a variety of items including jewelry, treats, arts clothing, children’s accessories, toys and home decor. There are items for everyone in the family.
When: 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday

Remember 9/11
The Freedom Festival is hosting a musical tribute to the lives of the men and women who experienced the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The event will feature Dallyn Vail Bayles and Amy Shreeve Keeler and include two days of shows and a Saturday matinee.
When: 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday; 8:30 p.m., Sept. 11
