5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for all ages.
Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:
Head to Oz
SCERA will open its indoor theater season Friday with the premiere of “The Wizard of Oz.” The entire family can enjoy the classic story of the young girl from Kansas who is taken to the magical world of Oz.
The production runs through Oct. 6.

See the creations of others
If you or your kids love to create, or even if you don’t, you can head to Thanksgiving Point this week to see the creations of others at the Mini Maker Faire.
The Maker Faire is a gathering of “makers” where they show hobbies, experiments and projects they have made.
“We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth — a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness,” Thanksgiving Point wrote.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday

Get into the fall spirit
One of the first fall fun centers in Utah County opens this week in Orem.
At Wilkerson Farm, you can have fun in the corn maze. Other activities include tractor rides, shotgun slides, apple shooters, mini hay maze, food trucks, swing ride, spinning tubs, a mini hay maze, pedal tractor racing and a pumpkin pyramid.
When: Opens Friday

Celebrate Brazilian culture
You may love Brazilian cuisine, but at the Brazilian Festival this week at University Place, you can celebrate Brazilian culture with more than just food.
The event will include a Samba Parade, costumes, fun and food.
When: 1-7 p.m., Saturday
Where: University Place; 575 E. University Parkway, Orem
Celebrate Indian Culture
If you would rather learn more about the culture of India, you can head to the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork for the 31st annual India Fest. The festival will feature entertainment, cuisine, a gift shop, henna hand decorating, art, photography, cultural exhibits and a pageant of the Ramayana — the burning of a 20-foot high, 10-headed demon named Ravana. There also will be fireworks to end the evening.
When: 5 p.m., Saturday

Cost: $3 per person, $1 for children
