5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week

A home in Pleasant Grove currently under construction is featured in this year's Parade of Homes, which is currently under way.

Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for all ages.

Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:

Head to a city celebration

If you’re a fan of carnivals, great food, concerts, fireworks, parades and more, you’ll want to take note of the three city celebrations happening across Utah County this week, with events for everyone in the family.

Both Orem Summerfest and Saratoga Splash kicked off Monday with festivities through Saturday including a Family Fun Day, Water Party, Picnic in the Park, Car Show, Hot Dog and Pie Eating Contests and more.

Pleasant Grove’s Strawberry Days, on the other hand, kicks off Saturday with events through June 22 including the Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast, Car Show and Cruise, Free Family Swim and Kiwanis Relay Race.

When: Orem Summerfest and Saratoga Splash run daily through Saturday while Pleasant Grove’s Strawberry Days kicks off Saturday.

Enjoy the Parade of Homes

Though children ages 5 and up must have a ticket, everyone is welcome to tour the homes featured in the 2019 Utah Valley Parade of Homes, which kicked off June 6. Dozens of homes are available for viewing and walk-throughs, with tickets to the event priced at $16 per person at uvparade.com and plenty of discounts available through sponsors and advertisements.

When: Now through June 22 with homes open Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 9 p.m.

Visit the Princess Festival

Meet new princesses and unique characters and become one yourself while learning fun lessons at the annual Princess Festival, coming to University Place this week. The event includes over 30 completely costumed characters, a variety of adventures, side shows and full “Princess Play,” teaching the concept of “How to make a difference.” The festival is priced at $11-$13 for ages 3-12, and is free for under 3 and over 12 with details at princessfestival.com.

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 11-15

Watch Orem Owlz Baseball

This weekend marks the opening of the Orem Owlz baseball season, with games Friday through Monday against the Rocky Mountain Vibes.

Friday’s game will feature opening-night fireworks, while Saturday is Luau Night featuring Polynesian dancers and fire dancers. Sunday includes an offer for a group discount, as well as a Bark in the Park dog-friendly event with Monday labeled Toy Story Night with the opportunity to benefit Sub for Santa by getting half-price tickets with a donation. Celebrate Living Legends

This weekend, head to the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo to see The Andes: Living Legends, an event hosted by the Latino Arts Foundation. The performance is scheduled to last a little over two hours with a 15-minute intermission, and will feature traditional music, colorful dances and over 4,000 years of traditions centered around the heritage of the Andes Mountains.

When: 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday
