By Staff | Oct 29, 2010

The Lighted Candle Society, a Utah-based anti-pornography foundation, has announced the recipients of its annual Guardian of the Light Awards: Jaynann Morgan Payne, of Provo, and Dr. W. Dean Belnap, of Kaysville.

“For many years Jaynann Morgan Payne has provided service to her community as a teacher, lecturer, author, community activist and leader,” said foundation chairman John L. Harmer, in a press release. “She was nationally recognized as an outstanding mother and homemaker when in 1967 she was the second runner-up in the national Mrs. America selection. While serving in the Phillippines with her late husband, Dean Wilford Payne, as a public affairs missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jaynann organized a national anti-pornography conference among college and university students. Jaynann has also published a number of outstanding monographs in defense of the traditional family and the dignity and honor of the role of a woman as a homemaker.”

Payne and Belnap will receive their awards at an event on Wednesday. People interested in participating in the event may contact the Lighted Candle Society at (801) 505-1584 or e-mail lightedcandlesociety@gmail.com.

Starting at $4.32/week.
