Man in serious but stable condition after Little Moab crash
UTAH COUNTY – A 23-year-old South Jordan man was seriously injured after being thrown from a Jeep when it crashed in an area known as Little Moab.
He was flown to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray by medical helicopter and is in stable condition.
Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday and responded to the report of a vehicle rollover crash in southwest Utah County, seven miles north of Elberta.
“It’s a big outcropping of rock, people using it like they were in Moab,” said Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the UCSO.
He said Little Moab is about 15 miles south of Saratoga Springs off State Route 68, also known as Redwood Road.
The two occupants were in a Jeep Wrangler when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled. The passenger, Jason Guss, 23, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the Jeep as it rolled.
“The driver was wearing a seat belt,” Cannon said. “His injuries do not appear to be life threatening,”
The driver and passenger had been drinking alcohol, but the driver was not legally impaired according to the UCSO report. Charges are not expected to be filed.
