A Pleasant Grove man was arrested Wednesday on reports of aggravated assault.

Michael Robinson, 56, was arrested on suspicion of one first-degree felony of aggravated assault, one second-degree felony of obstruction of justice and one class B misdemeanor of domestic violence in the presence of a child, according to a police report.

On Tuesday evening, officers received reports of an injured woman and found that she was unconscious and wounded, police reported.

The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was found to have multiple broken ribs, blunt force trauma to the head, a broken nose and a fractured skull, according the report.

The woman indicated Robinson had assaulted her, police reported.

Robinson told officers he went into a rage, but could not recall the details of the incident, according to the report.

Officers found bloody disposable wipes clogged in the toilet, areas where blood had been cleaned off furniture and blood in the carpet, police reported.

Robinson is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bail, according to the report.
