The Utah County Sheriff's Office emblem is shown Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024.

An Eagle Mountain man is facing a handful of charges for allegedly distributing, possessing and viewing child sex abuse material.

Kevin Golding, 26, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of viewing, downloading and sharing child sex abuse images, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release Wednesday.

Golding’s arrest comes after detectives with the agency’s special victims unit launched an investigation back in April into a cyber tip they received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the alleged acts.

According to arresting documents, the initial cyber tip was received in late January 2024.

Investigators learned that a total of nine cyber tips linked to the same suspect had allegedly been reported to the organization between January and November 2024.

According to the arresting officer’s probable cause statement, the files discovered included images of minors as young as six years old.

“All nine cyber-tips included the same IP address from which the content was being accessed. The cybertips were from several different social media apps. The information provided also included different names and email addresses. Most of the usernames were similar with some minor different details,” the booking affidavit read.

Following the three-month investigation, detectives executed a search warrant of Golding’s home in Eagle Mountain, where he allegedly admitted to downloading, watching and sharing the explicit images via different social media apps, as recently as two weeks ago, the sheriff’s office said in its media release.

During that interview, deputies allege that Golding also said he fantasized about kidnapping children as he drove throughout the community, the release said.

Alleged child sex abuse material was found on Golding’s phone, which was seized as evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.

Golding was booked into the Utah County Jail. He faces 10 charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and 13 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Golding was being held without bail and had not formally been charged.

Starting at $4.32/week.
