Armed suspect shot and killed by Provo officers, police say

Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence assault in public at 2230 N. University Parkway at 9:15 p.m., which is at or near the Provo River Inn, and the victim reported the suspect had a gun, according to a police news release.
Upon arriving at the scene, two officers fired shots at the suspect, police said. Officers provided medical aid at the scene and the man was transported to Utah Valley Hospital, but did not survive.
The Utah County Officer-Involved Critical Incident team, which reports to the Utah County Attorney’s Office, is handling the investigation. Provo police said no additional details on the circumstances of the incident will be provided as the investigation proceeds.
The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave and will be provided with critical-incident support, Provo police said.
