Missionaries join a local congregation in Puerto Rico in singing new hymns during sacrament meeting.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Thursday the addition of 11 songs to its new hymnbook, “Hymns — For Home and Church.”

The hymns will be available on the Music Library, Gospel Library and Sacred Music app by Friday and are composed in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

The additions include a Tabernacle Choir favorite, “His Voice as the Sound”; an African American spiritual, “I’m Gonna Live So God Can Use Me”; and a song currently in the Spanish hymnbook, “Oh, How Great is Our Joy.”

“This is a wonderful day where there’s a refreshing of this hymnal that we have, and we’re hopeful that everyone thoroughly enjoys these new hymns and actually develops new favorites that, in years to come, become their old favorites,” Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said in a release.

The new additions increase the total of hymns in the new hymnbook to 48. The Church invites its members and leaders to incorporate the music in church and at home.

“I hope you take advantage of the opportunity that has been provided to enjoy these new hymns,” Renlund said. “Music is a language of the Spirit and can deepen your love and appreciation for God and His Divine Son and the restoration of the Lord’s Church in these latter days.”

The new hymns are listed below:

  • “Look unto Christ”
  • “Oh, How Great Is Our Joy”
  • “I’m a Pioneer Too”
  • “As I Keep the Sabbath Day”
  • “Read the Book of Mormon and Pray”
  • “I’m Gonna Live So God Can Use Me”
  • “The Lord’s My Shepherd”
  • “Because”
  • “His Voice as the Sound”
  • “O Lord, Who Gave Thy Life for Me”
  • “Still, Still, Still”
