Residents in northwest Utah County won’t have any shortages of food establishments to choose from while exploring options to satisfy their cravings, as a well-known restaurant chain brings its flavor to the community.
On Tuesday, Raising Cane’s opened its newest offering in Saratoga Springs, marking its second restaurant in Utah County and 10th overall in the state.
Located at the corner of Redwood Road and Lake Drive, just south of Crossroads Boulevard, Area Leader of Restaurants Linda Thompson said the area was ideal for Chicken Finger fans in northern Utah County who will no longer have to travel to Provo or into Salt Lake County to get their Cane’s fix.
“With the restaurant’s scenic location nestled between Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains, this is a place built for adventure and connection. Our dedicated crew is ready to serve craveable Chicken Finger Combos to fans both new and old,” Thompson said.
Tuesday’s grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with members from Point of the Mountain Chamber of Commerce and the Saratoga Springs City Council as well as the Westlake High School cheer team. A DJ provided upbeat tunes to set the tone for the occasion.
A $1,000 check was presented to Tabitha’s Way Local Food Pantry, which Raising Cane’s officials said aligns with the restaurant chain’s efforts of partnering with local community organizations.
Dozens flocked to Tuesday’s grand-opening celebration in anticipation of the moment when the doors officially opened for business.
Raising Cane’s crew members enthusiastically cheered on the first set of customers who were excited to chow down on Chicken Fingers, Cane’s Toast, coleslaw, or crinkle-cut fries.
Cole Christensen of Eagle Mountain was the first customer through the doors of the new restaurant, after he and several friends camped out overnight to secure their spot in line.
“We got here about 11 o’clock last night,” he told the Daily Herald.
With lawn chairs, blankets, a television and Xbox system, the group’s efforts proved successful in being among the first customers inside the restaurant’s new location.
“We were just excited, and were kind of like … we all love (Raising) Cane’s, and we figured they were giving out some free stuff, and it was super worth it,” he said.
The new Raising Cane’s at 1267 N Redwood Road is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight with extended hours Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The eatery known for its signature Chicken Fingers isn’t the only fast-food chain opening a Saratoga Springs location.
Jack in the Box will open its first Utah County restaurant just two doors north of Raising Cane’s at 1303 N. Redwood Road later this month.
A proposal has also been submitted to the city by developers who want to build an In and Out restaurant near Medical Drive and Redwood Road. The plan has not yet been approved.
