An investigation is underway after police say a body was discovered on some train tracks in Lehi on Thursday.

According to Lehi Police Department spokesperson Jeanteil Livingston said around 6 p.m. officers were called to the area of 850 East and Pioneer Crossing, where the deceased individual, who officials later identified as 45-year-old Dena Beal of Lehi, was reportedly found on the tracks underneath an overpass.

Trains were briefly paused as detectives investigated the scene.

We do know that no trains were involved in the death,” said Livingston, in a statement.

Detectives said at this point foul play is not suspected. However, the police are awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology reports for an official determination on the cause and manner of death.

No other information was released as police are actively investigating the situation.
