Driver airlifted to hospital after rollover crash in Provo Canyon

Firefighter respond to a crash in Provo Canyon on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2026. (Courtesy Wasatch Fire)An individual was airlifted to the hospital Sunday night after a rollover crash in Provo Canyon.
Around 7:30 p.m., a vehicle was involved in a crash, went off U.S. 189 and fell down an embankment near the train tracks and toward the Provo River, according to Wasatch Fire.
Fire responders arrived and found the person trapped in the vehicle, which was resting on three wheels, authorities said. Crews successfully extracted the person after stabilizing the vehicle with struts. The person was transported to a trauma center, Wasatch Fire said.
Wasatch County Search and Rescue, Wasatch Fire, Utah Highway Patrol and Intermountain Life Flight assisted in the incident.
