At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the UCCU Center, the organization will hold a “Freedom Built to Last Memorial” to honor Kirk.
“The gathering will honor Charlie as a faith-filled husband, father, and defender of free speech with a memorial that serves as a deliberate act of remembrance and a call for students and supporters to continue his life’s work,” Turning Point USA said in a news release.
Kirk, a conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder, was speaking in an event on Sept. 10, 2025 at an outdoor courtyard at UVU when he was shot and killed in front of thousands of people.
UVU previously announced that campus would be closed on Sept. 10, and invited students to attend a United Way charity event that morning in Provo. Now, the UCCU Center will open that night for the event.
Speaking will be conservative radio host Glenn Beck, TPUSA Chief Field Officer Andrew Sypher, Utah Representative for TPUSA’s College Department Caleb Chillcut and President of Examined Ministries, Frank Turek.
