Man dies after stabbing at Springville residence; suspect in custody

A Springville police vehicle is pictured.A 28-year-old man died after being stabbed Saturday morning inside a Springville residence. A suspect, who police said was a recent acquaintance of the victim, is in custody.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 3:15 a.m. and arrived to find the man in critical condition, according to Springville police. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Following an investigation, Jaxson Clift, 23, of Bluffdale, was arrested and booked on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief.
Police said Clift was identified and located by Springville officers and detectives with the assistance of the Utah County Major Crimes Unit and the Metro SWAT Team.
The circumstances that led to the incident are under investigation, according to authorities.
“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and friends for their tragic loss,” Springville police said.
