The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative Mayors program takes place in New York, Monday, July 13, 2026.Provo Mayor Marsha Judkins was selected as one of 46 mayors from 15 countries to participate in a Harvard-run city leadership course.
She joins the 10th class of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, a nine-month hybrid program taught by Harvard faculty that provides leadership training to mayors from across the globe.
The class started Monday with an in-person gathering in New York City.
“This isn’t an award or a conference,” Judkins said in a social media post Monday. “It’s an intensive leadership program hosted by Harvard and Bloomberg Philanthropies that brings together mayors from around the world to learn proven strategies for making local government more effective, innovative and responsive to the people we serve.”
According to a news release, 447 mayors have participated in the program, including eight mayors of the United States’ 10 largest cities. Judkins said program expenses are covered by the program, and that she is there to learn.
“The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative does not offer specific policy recommendations,” she said in her post. “Instead, throughout this program, I’ll be working alongside city leaders, Harvard faculty, and public policy experts, bringing home ideas that can help us strengthen city services, improve how we solve problems and continue building a city we’re proud to call home.”
