From midnight to 5 a.m., I-15 will be closed southbound from Exit 282 to Main Street in Lehi, the Utah Department of Transportation said.
Southbound drivers are asked to take the 282 exit ramp and detour from Thanksgiving Way to State Street back onto I-15 at Main Street. Northbound I-15 will be closed around the 2100 North interchange. Drivers are asked to detour at Exit 282 onto Digital Drive and then get back on the freeway.
UDOT spokesman John Gleason said they do not expect many delays.
“I-15 is our most heavily traveled freeway in the state, so anytime you shut down a major freeway like I-15, you’re going to look at some major impacts,” he said. “We can identify those times that that there’s fewer vehicles out on the road. That means fewer people will face delays, and there’ll be fewer impacts.”
Gleason said lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. Friday night in preparation for the full freeway closure.
