The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. near the Strawberry Ridge area in the eastern Utah County backcountry, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident prompted three helicopters to be called in to assist the individuals, authorities said. UCSO confirmed that all three are in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office reiterated the importance of wearing seat belts while riding recreational vehicles.

“Every year we see multiple folks get injured in OHV accidents where they are not wearing their seat belts,” a UCSO news release said. “Please wear your seat belts. It’s required by law, and it’s for your own safety.”
