63-year-old cyclist dies after being struck by vehicle in Provo

A Provo police car is parked on Center Street on Saturday, June 25, 2022.A 63-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike Monday morning in Provo.
At 8:16 a.m., Provo police responded to a crash at Lakeview Parkway and the University Avenue Interstate 15 off-ramp, where a vehicle exiting the freeway had collided with the cyclist, according to a news release.
The cyclist was transported to Utah Valley Hospital but died from his injuries.
“Our condolences are with his family and loved ones,” Provo police said.
The Provo police traffic team responded to the scene and closed the roadway for most of the morning Monday while investigating, the news release said. The driver of the vehicle was cooperating with investigators and was not suspected to be driving under the influence, according to authorities.
