The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square will present its Summer Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

“The 2023 concert is expected to be a captivating and unforgettable musical experience that will celebrate the power of music to unite people from diverse cultures and backgrounds,” choir leadership said in a news release.

For those unable to attend the concert in person, the Saturday concert will be livestreamed at 7:30 p.m.on the choir’s Youtube channel. Those listening will be able to choose between a broadcast in English or Spanish. It will also be aired on BYUtv.

The concert will feature a curated repertoire that encompasses a wide range of musical genres from classical to contemporary pieces, seeking to resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, according to a choir promotion.

“Drawing from the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Mexico, the concert will feature a captivating selection of songs and arrangements that beautifully blend tradition with the Choir’s unmistakable sound,” reads choir information.

The Summer Concert aims to celebrate the power of music to unite people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, featurinh guest artists Adassa and Alejandro Melecio.

Adassa is best known for voicing Dolores in Disney’s “Encanto.” She is a Golden Globe, Oscar and Grammy winner. Melecio was a finalist on “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” a reality competition show searching for Latino musical talent, in 2012. The native of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, signed with record label Rumor Records and released a debut album in 2015.

Mack Wilberg, the choir’s music director, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director, will conduct the concert.
