For the past 85 years, the Lehi Round-Up has showcased the combination of national patriotism and hometown values that Lehi City has become known for — and this year’s celebration has certainly been no different.

Performers of all ages wowed the audience at the annual Raise the Mic vocal competition held at Wines Park on Friday. Local artists and vendors also set up shop at the park for the annual Round-Up Market on Friday and Saturday. The market had no shortage of colorful crafts, stylish clothes and delicious food and drinks.

Paul Crowther, a local cane-maker, displayed a wide variety of hand-carved canes at his booth, the largest of which took him two weeks to complete. Crowther takes inspiration from fellow artisans and real-world animals in his work.

Local author Johan Twiss performed magic tricks and displayed his novels at his booth. Twiss has written several books geared toward young audiences, including the four-book “I Am Sleepless” series, which he describes as “Avatar” meets “Star Wars.”

“It’s a four-book sci-fi series for kids ages 9 and up,” Twiss said. “A lot of teens and adults read it too, but I wrote it so my kids could read it.”
