A new local rock band called Timeless will be hosting a benefit concert for the public next month at The Towne Hub in American Fork, with all of the funds generated from the concert given as a donation to Tabitha’s Way Local Food Pantry.

“(Donations) bring us one step closer to a no-hunger zone, which is our vision as an organization,” said Wendy Osborne, founder of Tabitha’s Way. “We want to create no-hunger zones throughout Utah County, where no one is food insecure.”

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. May 19 at The Towne Hub, a movie theater-turned-venue in American Fork that hosts various events, such as battle of the bands, magic shows, latin nights, video game competitions, comedy shows, plays, musicals and more.

“We chose American Fork for our first public benefit because the people of this area have such a deep love for timeless music, as well as a concern for their neighbors in need,” said Timeless member Larry Banks.

Tickets are $5 at the door for entry, but the options for giving don’t stop there. Patrons can give an additional monetary donation at their discretion, and bins to collect food donations will be available at the entrance. “Tabitha’s Way is a great mission-driven organization,” Banks said. “It’s an honor to partner with them for this show to benefit this community.”

Band members Banks and Mimi West founded Timeless as a way to bring classic live music to local listeners. They said they enjoy performing renditions of chart-topping songs by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Journey, Mariah Carey, the Beatles, Lady Gaga, Elvis Presley, Taylor Swift and more.

Mimi West has been classically trained in opera and received her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Brigham Young University. After graduating, she performed in operas and musicals in lead roles, and then decided to obtain an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden SOB. She is a mother of three children and works for disruptive healthcare companies in marketing management.

As a young man, Larry Banks was an entertainer for United Service Organizations. He was drafted while on tour. He served in the US Army in an untraditional way, performing for soldiers instead of fighting battles. While serving, he won the All-Pacific Army Entertainment Contest. He opened shows with his band for Tom T. Hall, Bobe Hope, and more.

He initially studied music at the University of Utah, trading his initial music major for a business degree and continuing his education until he obtained his PhD. He is now a university administrator. In his spare time, he enjoys writing songs and practicing music.

Timeless performances feature images from history and original artists that are projected onto a screen behind West and Banks as a large backdrop to the stage, allowing audience members to reflect on different stages of their lives and immerse themselves in nostalgia. With a variety of retro and modern-day artists, their music caters to all ages and a broad audience.

“The show makes a perfect date night, or even a great family night,” West said. “Introverts will enjoy sitting and listening, while extroverts are welcome to jump out of their seats, dance and sing along with us.”
