Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have shown concern over the health and wellbeing of Elder Jeffrey R. Holland over the past several months. Holland was absent from the church’s General Conference in April for medical reasons and his wife, Patricia Terry Holland, died on July 20.

On Thursday the church updated his condition, informing the public of another stint in the hospital, with a brief statement.

“Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is currently hospitalized for observation and treatment of ongoing health complications. Elder Holland is grateful for the many prayers offered in his behalf in recent weeks for his health and during this time of mourning. He sincerely appreciates the well-wishes and kindnesses shown by friends and members of the Church who know and care for him and his family,” reads the statement.

No more information has been shared on his condition concerning his continued need for dialysis and other conditions.
