Eagle Mountain residents file referendum to repeal 183% property tax increase
A group of Eagle Mountain residents submitted a referendum application Tuesday in an effort to repeal a 183% property tax hike that was approved by the Eagle Mountain City Council last week. Resident Alex Washburn, one of 13 residents sponsoring the referendum, said it was filed and is in the review stage. If approved, they will need to gather signatures from at least 8.25% of Eagle Mountain residents for the measure to reach the November ballot.
