Concerts set to resume in Spring City

By Staff | Jan 11, 2023

The Spring City Concert Series is set to resume at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, in the Spring City Community Center ballroom, 45 South 100 East.

The concert series was created to raise money to buy a piano for the ballroom. Soon after, the Bastian Foundation donated a grand piano. Now the concerts raise money to maintain the piano. The second concert is paid. The other two are free.

This year’s concerts include excellent young pianists playing on Jan. 13, Brian Stucki and some of his students from Snow College on February 10, and Jack Ashton’s Young Artists, a select string group of outstanding high school students from the Wasatch Front on March 10.

Beginning the season are Luke Olson, Peter Larson, and Sean Allred.

Luke is a student of Donnell Blackham of Moroni. He is a junior at North Sanpete High School. He will play selections by Bach, Tcherepnin, and McDowell.

Peter Larsen is a student of Kyle Alm of Ephraim. He is a junior at Skyline High School, interested in studying medicine when he reaches college. He will play works by Debussey.

Sean Allred, is a student of David Rosier of Spring City. He is a freshman at North Sanpete High School, and will play pieces by Burgdorf.

All are invited to the concert.
