Snow College Fine Arts presents a spectacular October lineup
EPHRAIM — Snow College’s Fine Arts program is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of events for the month of October. From captivating musicals to moving choral concerts and exhilarating jazz performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Yo Vikings! – A Musical Adventure
From Oct. 4 to 7 at 7:30 p.m., audiences of all ages are invited to embark on an enchanting journey with “Yo Vikings!” This musical, based on Judith Byron Schachner’s beloved book, follows the fearless 10-year-old Viking, Emma Katz, on her quest for excitement in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. With a blend of sweeping melodies, Viking chants, and rock ‘n roll, “Yo Vikings!” promises a heartwarming narrative that engages and thrills. Tickets are priced at $12 for adults, $10 for youth/seniors, and $4 for Snow students with a Bader ID.
Viva Italia! – Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band Concert
On Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m., prepare to be transported to Italy with the “Viva Italia!” Wind Symphony & Symphonic Band Concert. Under the direction of David Fullmer, these talented musicians will enchant you with soul-stirring melodies. The concert features faculty soprano soloist Professor Susan Huff and faculty tenor soloist Professor Brian Stucki. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for youth/seniors, and $3 for Snow students with a Badger ID.
Madrigals, Motets, & Memories – Choral Concert
Experience a captivating journey through time and culture at the Choral Concert on Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. “Madrigals, Motets, & Memories” blends old English and Italian melodies with pieces inspired by European religious traditions. This performance also pays tribute to Holocaust memories, promising a moving evening at the Jorgensen Concert Hall. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults, $8 for youth/seniors, and $3 for Snow students with a Badger ID.
U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors – A Musical Extravaganza
On Oct. 28 at 2:30 p.m., don’t miss the exceptional collaboration between the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors and the Snow College Jazz Big Band. Experience the magic of these musical ambassadors as they deliver a unique concert supporting our troops and global diplomacy. Admission is free, but tickets are required.
Stringapalooza – A Spooktacular Night of Music
Get ready for a spooktacular night on Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. with the Halloween-themed Stringapalooza! The Snow College Orchestra joins forces with talented high school orchestras from Gunnison Valley, Manti, North Sanpete and Wasatch Academy to create a symphonic experience like no other. Best of all, admission is absolutely free!
Jazz Big Band – A Night of Musical Bliss
Close out the month with the Snow College Jazz Big Band on Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Led by the talented artist Steve Erickson, this ensemble will take you on a journey of soulful melodies and heart-pumping beats. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for youth/seniors, and $3 for Snow students with a Badger ID.
