FAIRVIEW — CentraCom, a leading provider of telecommunications and broadband services in Utah, is excited to announce its acquisition of Manti Telephone Co. (MTC) along with its affiliated companies, Manti Tele Communications Co. (MTCC), and AFConnect (AFI). While the financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, this move marks a significant stride in CentraCom’s ongoing commitment to enhancing connectivity across the state.
CentraCom, a subsidiary of LICT Corp. (OTC Pink: LICT), boasts a rich history dating back to 1903 when it was founded as Utah’s first independent rural telephone company. Over the years, CentraCom has evolved into a pioneer in delivering high-capacity broadband data transport, telecommunications, video, and various other services to communities both rural and metropolitan.
MTC, with its origins dating back to 1907, has been a trusted provider of landline telephone services in Manti and Sterling, Utah, for over a century. In the 1990s, their commitment to reliable communication services expanded to Ephraim. In 2006, they ventured into cutting-edge fiber-to-the-home internet services with the establishment of MTCC, serving the communities of Manti, Ephraim, and Sterling. In 2022, MTC broadened its reach with the acquisition of AFConnect, an internet service provider in American Fork, Utah, renowned for its consistent growth in offering fiber-to-the-home internet services.
This acquisition aligns with LICT’s strategic initiative to expand its reach and further underscores its dedication to delivering high-speed broadband and communication services to the communities it serves. The proximity of Manti’s operations to the southernmost regulated CentraCom exchange is anticipated to facilitate a seamless integration with CentraCom’s existing operations.
Brad Welch, chief operating officer at CentraCom, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to finalize this transaction and believe that combining these two high-quality networks and exceptional staff is in the best interest of all stakeholders. We eagerly look forward to maintaining our commitment to delivering top-notch services to the customers of the Manti companies.”
Dallas Cox, general manager of MTC, echoed his excitement about the acquisition, saying, “With this merger, we are thrilled to join forces with LICT and CentraCom, allowing us to continue delivering exceptional services to the remarkable people of Utah while staying true to our roots in Manti, Ephraim, and Sterling. We believe in CentraCom’s vision and have been impressed by the advancements they have made, contributing to the well-being of numerous communities through their services and support.”
With the full support of LICT, CentraCom and MTC are well-positioned to shape a brighter future for telecommunications in Utah. This partnership is set to foster growth, connectivity, and prosperity for the communities they serve, marking a new chapter in the journey of delivering cutting-edge telecommunications services to rural Utah.
