Snow College prepares to celebrate Class of 2024 at commencement ceremonies

Snow College is gearing up to honor its graduating class of 2024 with commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 2 and 3. A total of 1,335 graduates will be celebrated during the ceremonies, representing a diverse group of students from various backgrounds.

The commencement festivities will kick off with the Richfield ceremony on May 2 at the Sevier Valley Center. Guests are encouraged to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. to secure their seats for the processional march. The commencement address will be delivered by Dennis Jorgensen, a distinguished business owner and influential member of the central Utah community. Additionally, Ruth Jackson, renowned for her philanthropic efforts and advocacy for expanding higher education access, will be honored for her contributions to the community.

On May 3, the Ephraim ceremony will take place outdoors at the Terry Foote Stadium. Guests are requested to be seated by 2:30 p.m., marking the start of the processional march. Brent Brown, a prominent businessman and advocate for higher education, will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary degree. The ceremony will also recognize Eddie Cox, a respected figure in the business community and a longtime supporter of Snow College, with an honorary degree.

Joseph Bliss of Oak City, Utah, will be celebrated as the valedictorian of the class of 2024. Joseph’s academic achievements include certificates in manual machining, CNC machining, composites, and beginning welding, along with Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology and Associate of Science degrees. He will deliver the valedictory speech at both ceremonies.

In addition to the commencement events, a bachelor’s degree convocation will take place on May 2nd, providing further opportunities for celebration and recognition.
