As a new school year begins, Sanpete County is rolling out a variety of programs aimed at helping parents, students, and community members navigate life’s challenges. From stress relief to building resilience, these offerings are designed to support the mental and emotional well-being of everyone in the community.
Celebrate Recovery Month in Manti
On Saturday, September 21st, the community is invited to celebrate Recovery Month at the outdoor pavilion at the Manti Fairgrounds, located at 50 West 500 North in Manti. This event is an opportunity to support recovery efforts in the community while enjoying an afternoon of fun and fellowship. From 2 to 5 p.m., attendees can participate in lawn games, listen to music, and explore resource tables. The evening program, running from 5 to 7 p.m., will feature performances, speakers, and a raffle, culminating with a special headliner performance at 7 p.m.
Parenting with Positive Discipline: A Snow College Program
Snow College is offering a parenting program titled “Parenting with Positive Discipline,” designed to help parents raise responsible, respectful, and resourceful children. The classes will be held on Thursday evenings–Aug. 22 & 29 and Sept. 5 & 12–from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Snow College Ephraim Campus, Business Building Room 146. Ascend Counseling and Coaching Expands in Fairview
Ascend Counseling and Coaching has recently expanded its facility in Fairview, located at 125 North State Street in the iconic log cabin. Ascend offers both online and in-person counseling and coaching services, with a focus on holistic wellness, including nutritional guidance. The HARTT Barn: New Programs and Services in Fairview
The HARTT Barn, a newly renovated red barn on the west side of Fairview, is launching a range of new programs this fall, beginning Sept. 3. The facility specializes in individual and group mental health coaching, offering discounted rates for some classes as part of their pilot season. The HARTT Barn accepts HSA funds for mental health classes, making these services more accessible to the community.
- Wooly Wonders Knitting Class: Open to all ages, this beginners knitting class takes place on Mondays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday Classes: Practical Writing Skills (ages 14 and up) from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Word Jazz Expressions of Poetry (ages 14 and up) from 3 to 4:30 p.m., and Bible Hero Stories (ages 12 and up) from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
- Rooted and Resilient: A class focusing on coping skills for adults (ages 18 and up) is held on Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m., taught by certified IBSR life coach Hilary Thompson. A similar session for teens and parents is available from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
- Thursday Night Painting Session: From 6 to 9 p.m., participants can join a self-guided painting session with professional tips from award-winning artist Eric Thompson. “Reserve an easel” to secure your spot.

The Central Utah Counseling Center in Ephraim is dedicated to providing “competent and compassionate behavioral healthcare” to individuals and communities.
