Kurt Bestor’s holiday magic returns to Gunnison’s Casino Star Theatre

The magic of the holiday season will come alive once again as celebrated composer and performer Kurt Bestor brings his beloved Christmas concert to Gunnison’s historic Casino Star Theatre. Known affectionately as “Utah’s Mr. Christmas,” Bestor has been delighting audiences with his holiday performances for over three decades.

This year, Bestor will be joined by guest artist Aaron Ashton, an acclaimed violinist known for his work in both classical and world music genres.

The holiday season will sparkle with joy as Kurt Bestor, “Utah’s Mr. Christmas,” brings his beloved Christmas concert back to Gunnison’s Casino Star Theatre on Dec. 17. Now in its fourth year at the historic venue, Bestor will perform two shows at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Bestor’s concerts are a festive blend of timeless favorites and original compositions, including the emotional Prayer of the Children. This year, acclaimed violinist Aaron Ashton will join Bestor, accompanied by a string quartet and bass-and-guitar trio, delivering vibrant renditions of holiday classics. The theatre’s restored 1908 Steinway piano will add to the evening’s rich musical tapestry.

This magical event is part of the Casino Star Theatre Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Live Performance Season, celebrating two decades of bringing arts and culture to Central Utah. Future performances include Pa’akai We Bring on Jan. 25 and Cash’d Out on Feb. 14.
