Ephraim students deck the halls at Zions Bank
More than 100 students from Ephraim Elementary School decorated the tree inside Zions Bank on Monday, Dec. 9.
Ephraim Elementary students brought holiday cheer to the community on Monday, Dec. 9, as they gathered at Zions Bank in Ephraim to decorate the branch’s Christmas tree with handmade ornaments. The festive event is part of Zions Bank’s long-running “Lights On” holiday tradition, which has been spreading joy across Utah and Idaho for 52 years.
More than 100 students participated in the event, adorning the tree with creative, colorful ornaments they crafted in preparation for the celebration. Their cheerful caroling filled the lobby, adding to the holiday spirit, while proud parents, teachers, and bank employees looked on.
As part of the event, Zions Bank presented a $100 donation to Ephraim Elementary School. “We cherish this annual tradition because it gets us into the holiday spirit,” said Nate Christensen, Zions Bank Ephraim Branch Manager. “We’re proud to support Ephraim Elementary through our donation.”
The beautifully decorated Christmas tree will remain on display in the bank’s lobby through the holiday season, inviting the community to stop by and enjoy the students’ artwork.
The “Lights On” tradition connects local schools with their communities, celebrating creativity and togetherness during the holidays. This year, more than 50 schools across Utah and Idaho are participating, with thousands of students contributing handmade decorations to brighten Zions Bank lobbies. In addition to general elementary school participation, Zions Bank extended the opportunity to special-needs classes and Title 1 schools to ensure inclusivity.
For Ephraim Elementary students, the event was more than just a fun holiday outing–it provided a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing their hard work brought joy to others. Teachers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partner with Zions Bank, emphasizing the importance of community traditions that encourage creativity and foster connection.
The Ephraim branch event is part of Zions Bank’s broader commitment to supporting local schools and communities. With 95 full-service branches in Utah and additional locations in Idaho and Wyoming, Zions Bank has been a part of local communities for more than 150 years.
For those passing through Ephraim this season, the Zions Bank lobby offers a special glimpse of holiday magic, thanks to the talented students of Ephraim Elementary. The tree’s handmade ornaments and heartfelt carols are a reminder of the joy and unity that define the season.
