Luke Olson, son of Dr. Glenn and Ann Janette Olson of Mount Pleasant, will take center stage for an impressive solo recital, showcasing his musical prowess. Under the guidance of his mentor, E. Donnell Blackham of Moroni, Luke will enchant the audience with compositions by Tcherepnin, Bach, Mozart, MacDowell, and Debussy.

This solo recital marks a significant accomplishment for Luke, a testament to his dedication and talent. Active in various high school activities, including four years in tennis and playing both French horn and trumpet, Luke’s musical journey began under the tutelage of his grandmother, Norma Olson of Ephraim. His subsequent collaboration with Blackham has propelled him to excellence, earning him the prestigious title of Sterling Scholar in music at North Sanpete High School.

Originally established to raise funds for a piano in the ballroom, the Spring City concert series now aims to maintain the splendid grand piano generously donated by the B. W. Bastian foundation. This kickoff event, featuring Luke Olson, will be followed by two more winter concerts: Brian Stucki and students in February, and Jack Ashton’s Young Artists chamber orchestra in March.
