Local community comes together for Easter Offering Concert

By Staff | Mar 27, 2024

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Mount Pleasant community recently gathered for the annual Easter Offering Concert on Sunday, an event that has become a beloved tradition for the past 39 years. Under the direction of Roy Ellefsen, the concert featured a talented choir, soloists, and an enthusiastic audience.

The concert, which has become a staple in the community’s Easter celebrations, was a testament to the dedication and hard work of Ellefsen, who has tirelessly conducted the choir year after year. His commitment to the event has not gone unnoticed, and the community expressed their gratitude for his continued sacrifice.

However, amidst the warm thanks and appreciation, one regret was expressed by Dave Fullmer, a member of the organizing committee. In a heartfelt message, Fullmer acknowledged a failure to properly recognize the talents and contributions of Shirley Hilton, the choir’s organist. Fullmer took full responsibility for the oversight and expressed his hope that Hilton and her husband Craig would forgive him for the careless mistake.

Fullmer urged community members to extend their appreciation to Hilton if they encountered her in town, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging her dedication and talent.

The Easter Offering Concert serves as a poignant reminder of the power of community and the importance of expressing gratitude to those who contribute their time and talents to make such events possible.
