Sanpete Pantry’s annual Evening of Giving set for Sept. 28

The Sanpete Pantry’s mission has always been fighting hunger countywide.

Sanpete Pantry is excited to announce its annual Evening of Giving fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 28. The gala will be held at the Petersen Dance Hall, located at 65 South State St. in Fairview. This event is crucial in supporting the Pantry’s efforts to fight hunger throughout Sanpete County, especially as we approach the fall and winter months.

The evening promises a variety of activities, beginning with a catered dinner by Mardell Kitchen, led by Jason Mardel. Attendees can also participate in a silent auction and a live auction. To close out the night, there will be a concert by “Fat in the Fire,” ensuring an enjoyable time for all who attend.

Table subscriptions and sponsorship opportunities

Guests can support the Pantry by reserving a table or purchasing individual tickets. Several sponsorship levels are available, each offering unique benefits:

Headlining sponsor ($10,000)

  • Includes two tables
  • Event signage thanking sponsors
  • Social media and media recognition throughout the next year

Gold level sponsor ($5,000)

  • Includes one table
  • Event signage and social media recognition

Silver level sponsor ($1,000)

  • Includes one table with eight seats

Single ticket ($125)

Sanpete Pantry’s mission and impact

The Sanpete Pantry is dedicated to combating hunger across the county. With the support of the community, the Pantry served an impressive 330,924 meals last year to those in need. The Pantry’s main location is at 1080 Blackhawk Blvd., Mount Pleasant, UT 84647, and is open for food pickup on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. In addition to its main location, the Pantry provides mobile food pickup services to three locations within the county:

Gunnison: Twice a month at the Old Fire Station (1st Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. and 3rd Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon)

Ephraim: Once a month at the Teachers Parking Lot at Snow College (2nd Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.)

Fountain Green: 4th Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m.

As of August 2024, the Pantry has provided 342,720 meals for a family of four in the county, a significant 27% increase over the previous year. Additionally, during the 2023-2024 school year, they have distributed an average of 350 “school packs” weekly to children in need, with numbers rising to 392 in the first week of the school year.
