New Gunnison Valley Oncology and Hematology Clinic opens

By Staff | Mar 12, 2025

Patients in Gunnison and surrounding communities will soon have easier access to high-quality cancer and blood disorder care with the recent opening of the Gunnison Valley Oncology and Hematology Clinic. This new facility will provide essential infusion therapy and specialized hematology-oncology appointments, reducing the need for long trips to larger medical centers.

Thanks to a partnership with Intermountain Health, the clinic will implement a hybrid care model designed to offer expert treatment close to home. Patients will attend in-person appointments at the clinic, where trained Gunnison Valley Hospital nurses will take vitals, assist during visits, and administer infusion therapy. Meanwhile, consultations with board-certified Intermountain Health oncologist-hematologists will take place through real-time, two-way video telehealth technology.

“Our goal is to make cancer and hematology care more accessible for patients in Gunnison and surrounding communities,” said Brenda Bartholomew, CEO of Gunnison Valley Hospital. “By leveraging telehealth technology and on-site infusion services, we are bringing high-quality care closer to home.”

The Gunnison Valley Oncology and Hematology Clinic is designed to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and convenient care for patients fighting cancer and blood disorders. Located at 65 East 100 South in Gunnison, the clinic is now accepting appointments.
