The blood drive will be held Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 6 p.m. at 295 S. Main Street.

Organizers are encouraging community members who are eligible to donate to schedule an appointment and help replenish the blood supply. Every blood donation has the potential to help multiple patients facing emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments and chronic illnesses.

The American Red Cross continues to rely on volunteer donors to maintain an adequate blood supply for hospitals and medical facilities across the region. During the summer months, donations often decline as regular donors travel or have changing schedules, making community blood drives especially important.

Those wishing to donate are encouraged to reserve an appointment in advance by visiting the American Red Cross donor website and entering the sponsor code “urgentneed” to locate the Manti blood drive.

Prospective donors should bring a photo ID, be in good general health and meet Red Cross eligibility requirements. Donors are also encouraged to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before their appointment.

According to the American Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds, and volunteer donors are essential to ensuring lifesaving blood products are available whenever and wherever they are needed.
