The 2026-27 Snow College Theatre season will feature four productions ranging from a family-friendly musical and Shakespearean tragedy to a classic comedy and one of Broadway’s most beloved musicals.

With affordable ticket prices, Saturday matinees and a season-ticket package designed to encourage audiences to see all four productions, the theatre program continues to provide an opportunity for local residents, students and visitors to experience live theatre right here in Sanpete County.

The season opens Oct. 8 with A Year with Frog and Toad, followed by Romeo and Juliet in November, The Odd Couple in February and Oklahoma! in March.

Season tickets are currently available and offer an especially good value. The “Buy 3 Performances, Get the 4th Free” package costs $40 for adults and $34 for youth and seniors. The season-ticket offer is available through Oct. 3.

A year with Frog and Toad

The season gets underway with A Year with Frog and Toad, directed by Nate Brown and based on Arnold Lobel’s popular children’s books.

Performances are scheduled for Oct. 8-10 at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. in the Eccles Center Kim Christison Theatre.

The musical follows two unlikely but inseparable friends, Frog and Toad, as they experience the changing seasons together. Their adventures are filled with humor, challenges and the everyday moments that make a friendship special.

With songs, charming characters and gentle humor, the production is intended to appeal to children and adults alike.

“A Year with Frog and Toad” carries a simple message about friendship, kindness and enjoying the little things in life–making it a natural choice for families looking for an entertaining night out.

Tickets for individual performances are $14 for adults and $12 for youth and seniors.

Shakespeare comes to the stage

In November, Snow College Theatre will turn to one of the most famous love stories ever written when it presents William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Directed by Jason Craig West, the production runs Nov. 12-14 and 19-21 at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees Nov. 14 and 21 at 2 p.m.

While audiences are familiar with the tragic story of the young lovers from feuding families, the production also explores the themes of reconciliation and redemption that emerge from their deaths.

The tragedy ultimately brings an end to the bitter conflict between the Montagues and Capulets, offering a reminder that even out of profound loss can come reconciliation.

Performances will be held in the Eccles Center Kim Christison Theatre. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for youth and seniors.

A little laughter in February

February will bring a change of pace when Snow College presents Neil Simon’s classic comedy The Odd Couple.

Directed by Gavin Douglas, the production runs Feb. 11-13 and 18-20 at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Performances will be held in the Eccles Center Haslam Black Box.

This version of The Odd Couple follows Olive Madison, a relaxed and fun-loving woman who invites her recently divorced friend Florence Unger to move in.

The problem is that Florence is nearly the complete opposite of Olive. Her organized, meticulous personality soon clashes with Olive’s more casual approach to life, creating a recipe for plenty of laughs.

As the two women attempt to share an apartment, their differences lead to comedic situations while also revealing the importance of friendship and learning to appreciate people who may not see the world the same way.

Individual tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for youth and seniors.

Oklahoma! closes the season

Snow College will close its 2026-27 theatre season with a classic that has entertained audiences for generations.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! will be presented March 18-20 and 25-27 at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees March 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. Jason Craig West will direct the production.

Set in Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the 20th century, Oklahoma! tells the story of cowboy Curly McLain and farm girl Laurey Williams as they navigate romance, rivalry and life in a changing frontier community.

The musical features some of musical theatre’s most recognizable songs, including “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “People Will Say We’re in Love” and “Oklahoma!”

With its combination of music, dance, humor and romance, the production offers a fitting conclusion to the season and a celebration of community, hope and the promise of a new day.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for youth and seniors.

Supporting Snow College students

Beyond providing entertainment for local audiences, the theatre season also serves an important purpose for Snow College students.

A percentage of all ticket sales goes toward scholarships for Theatre students. Additional donations can also be made to support the department’s scholarship program.

For many students, opportunities to perform, work backstage and participate in Snow College productions provide valuable experience as they pursue their education and prepare for careers in the performing arts.

For Sanpete County audiences, supporting the productions provides a chance to enjoy live entertainment while also helping students continue their education.

The Eccles Center has long served as an important performing arts venue for Snow College and the surrounding community, bringing theatre and other performances to Ephraim throughout the year.

Those interested in attending the entire season can take advantage of the special season-ticket offer through Oct. 3. Adults can purchase all four productions for $40, while youth and seniors can attend the complete season for $34.
