FAIRVIEW–Book lovers in northern Sanpete County will soon have a new opportunity to gather, discuss great books, and enjoy themed refreshments as the Fairview City Library introduces its new “Books and Bites” book club.

The monthly club is designed to bring readers together in a relaxed, social atmosphere where participants can share their thoughts on a featured title while enjoying snacks inspired by the book being discussed.

The club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Fairview City Library. The program is open to anyone 16 years of age and older, and both fiction and nonfiction selections will be featured throughout the year.

Library organizers have already selected books through October, providing readers plenty of time to pick up a copy and begin reading before each discussion.

The upcoming selections include:

• August: The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
• September: Theo of Golden by Allen Levi
• October: Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson

To help make the books easily accessible, the library plans to obtain copies through the Utah State Library Division’s Book Buzz program whenever possible. Copies of The Grapes of Wrath, the August selection, will be available for checkout beginning July 25.

Organizers hope the club will become an engaging community gathering for readers of all interests. While the first few selections have already been planned, future reading lists will be shaped by member participation, and attendees are encouraged to bring suggestions for books they would like the club to explore in upcoming months.

Whether readers enjoy classic literature, contemporary fiction, or thought-provoking nonfiction, the “Books and Bites” club aims to provide an enjoyable evening of conversation, discovery, and community.
