The temporary closure will be in effect through Oct. 21, 2026, from Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to the Sanpete Ranger District, the closure is necessary to protect public safety while crews conduct gravel application and livestock shipping operations in the area.

The road will not be closed during the entire week. The restrictions apply specifically to Mondays through Thursdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the closure period.

Officials are asking motorists and other forest users to be aware of the temporary restriction and to plan their trips accordingly while the work is underway.

The closure is part of operations on the Manti-La Sal National Forest’s Sanpete Ranger District. Forest officials say the temporary restriction is intended to provide a safer environment for the public and those working on the road and conducting livestock operations.
