Annual Lace Days set for July 14-16
The annual Lace Days have been set to be held Monday through Wednesday, July 14 through 16, at Fairview Museum of History and Art, 85 North 100 East, with classes in bobbin and specialty lace.
July 14 and 16, classes will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p.m., with a one-hour potluck lunch break. Participants are asked to bring a favorite dish to serve about 24 persons. Lunch on July 16 is up to each person.
July 15, is the day vendors will be at the museum with supplies for sale. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with one-hour lunch available at a nominal cost. Participants must have a basic knowledge of lacing and non-participants are welcome to observe.
In class one, Louise Colgagn will teach bobbin lace in color. The course focuses on the various colored threads in bobbin lace. Projects will cover a range of skill levels and styles. Students will learn how to incorporate both traditional and contemporary design formats.
Class two on July 14 and 16, will be taught by Elizabeth Peterson who will teach beginning and continuing torchon and personal unfinished projects.
